If you are a cat owner the chances are very good that you have a lot of cat hair in your home-on the furniture, in carpeting and even on your clothing. The very best way to reduce the amount of cat hair in your home is to brush your cat every single day. Your cat will love it and you will see a noticeable improvement in the amount of cat hair in the house. It is important when brushing your cat to concentrate on the tail and the rear end of the cat. These areas shed heavily so take your time and brush the cat for at least fifteen minutes. You should be able to get two to three brush fulls of hair with each brushing session. Most cats enjoy being brushed but some cats detest it. Cats are strange creatures in that way and you will not know until you try to brush you cat, which type he is. If you have hardwood floors instead of carpeting you can quite easily remove cat hair by using a dust mop on the floors as well as vacuuming the hard surfaced floors.

If you feed your cat a high quality cat food, he will be receiving the proper nutrients to ensure healthy skin and fur and he will shed less as a result of being fed well.

Cats are very popular house pets but unfortunately cats shed. With a little determination and hard work however, you can keep your home relatively free of excessive cat hair.
